Put a bird on it

Yes, that's a running joke in the Avant Card office where we all do love a bird and they seem to be used as artwork for many a thing.  It is actually National Bird Week and Birdlife Australia is running the Aussie Backyard Bird Count from today if you're a lover of all things avian.

Mr Rosanna and I are failing at our attempts to keep the Indian Myna birds out of our backyard despite planting native bushes and trying rubber snakes and a fake owl.  If you have any suggestions (besides shooting them!) then please let me know as they seem to have taken over our garden and we're not happy about it.

We've been spending our weekends slowly sprucing up our garden including painting deck furniture (next time I'm definitely not buying a wooden outdoor setting) and will hopefully get onto planting our herbs by Melbourne Cup weekend.  It's been an interesting exercise researching plants for different areas in our garden, which experiences varying amounts of light and shade - a good metaphor for life.

I hope you had a great weekend and are getting to experience some of the Spring sunshine that's around today.
