Loup de loup

While the past week or so has been spent amusing two little boys - we have managed to get out and about including having crepes and waffles today at French-inspired patisserie Bar Sur Loup in Balwyn just off Bulleen Road in a fairly quiet little strip of shops that includes Hahndorf's Fine Chocolates, children's party venue Sweet Republic, Body Vision Health & Fitness and SOMA Fitness.  I find it quite funny you've got fitness centres located next to shops and cafes that sell pastries, crepes and chocolates!  Bar Sur Loup has been open since last year and is a gorgeous space - it was full house today inside and out the front when we arrived so we managed to nab one of the two tables in the back courtyard near the herb garden.  They've also recently made it into the top 8 places for crepes on The Urban List and I can vouch for the La Grec which I scoffed down today.

While I'm on the topic of cakes and sweets, there is also a Hahndorf's Fine Chocolates shop on Grimshaw Street in Greensborough and if you are looking for a special occasion or novelty cake then you really should check out Greensborough Cake Decorating Centre in the nearby Grimshaw Walk arcade.  They do cakes which use both frosted icing and butter cream - you'll need to allow two weeks' notice if you want a cake with frosted icing as it's more involved than butter cream.

I'm looking forward to starting back at boot camp next week as I think I'll need it!
