The Ethics of Style

Christine Pan
It's been a long time coming but The Ethics of Style sustainable fashion design and fashion illustration exhibition starts today at The Light Factory Gallery in Eltham with the official opening on Sunday from 2 - 4 pm.  It's an exciting one for me given my love of both eco-fashion and fashion illustration and I have really enjoyed telling people about it.  I have my own fashion illustration print at home in my bedroom and there are some amazing works from Australia's leading fashion illustrators on show including Kerrie Hess (sister of Megan Hess), Brooklyn-based Edwina White, Michel Canetti, Christine Pan, Caitlin Shearer and Angie Rehe.  Angie is also taking a fashion illustration workshop on Saturday 27 July for $110 from 10 am - 4 pm.

The work of three sustainable Australian fashion designers will also be on show including Gemma Anastasiou (who features in the current issue of Peppermint Mag), high end designer Rachael Cassar and newcomer Joseph Jang.  Truly inspiring stuff!  Peppermint Magazine's Leeyong Soo will also be running two consecutive refashioning workshops at the gallery on Saturday 20th July for $60 from 10 am - 12.30 pm and 1 - 3.30 pm.  The gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday from 11 am - 4.30 pm.  Entry is free.
