Greening it up

It's World Environment Day today so it seems fitting to post about a few things green.  I've been busy the past few weeks and months not only working on PR for The Ethics of Style sustainable fashion exhibition at The Light Factory Gallery but also Avant Card's Postcard of the Year Awards which were held in Sydney last week.  And I was thrilled that the winner selected by a panel of industry judges was Melbourne Water's 'Build a Raingarden' postcard - a seeded card which could be planted afterwards to grow a native lemon myrtle!  How cool is that?  And even better, it was printed on 100% recycled paper using vegie dyes.

Speaking of seeds, you can now buy these (just peas and beans at the moment but more to come) online at Bulleen Art and Garden with free postage and no minimum order.  Sounds good for those of you wanting to continue to garden over the winter.

Pure & Green Organics is currently having an end of financial year sale with 30-50% off selected skin and body care products while Biome Eco Store is also offering 20% off all books.

I did make it to the Alumni & Community Makers Market at Ivanhoe Grammar School on Sunday where one of the things I bought was a gorgeous mini terrarium from Petite Garden which is now taking pride of place on my kitchen window sill.
