Yolanda Be Cool

There are a couple of upcoming events worth mentioning today.  On Sunday, an Alumni and Community Makers Market is being held at Ivanhoe Grammar School Ridgeway campus from 8.30 am to 2 pm.  Entry is gold coin donation to support UNACAS Orphanage.  Email: elise.dunstan@ivanhoe.com.au for further information.  Besides yummy food and coffee on offer, I've also spied some gorgeous hand made goods for sale including ceramics by Lene Kuhl-Jakobsen, hand made knits from local artist Teresa Bennett, beautifully printed textile bags and heat packs, felted bead necklaces, retro fabric aprons and hand made terrariums.  One for the early birds!

Also wanted to mention the Gurrumul: His Life and Music by Robert Hillman (who will be signing books) book launch event at Montsalvat next Tuesday night at 6.30pm. Tickets are $85 per couple and $75 for singles and include a signed copy of the book and refreshments.  Bookings are essential on 9439 8700 or email: elthambookshop@bigpond.com  I've seen and heard numerous video footage of Gurrumul performing and collaborating with people like Sting, Sarah Blasko and exciting new Australian artist Flume and I think the story behind the artist would make for a very interesting read.

I'll be back with a new local profile for you tomorrow!
