The Art of Food and Wine

Well the Year of the Dragon is slowly coming to an end and the Year of the Snake will soon be upon us.  For the Chinese, the new year or 'Spring Festival' means a lot of eating, drinking and catching up with friends and family.

Speaking of food, the first exhibition for The Light Factory Gallery this year is The Art of Food and Wine - an enduring theme which has inspired artists since the renaissance from Leonardo Da Vinci to Andy Warhol.  This exciting exhibition opens today (with the official opening this Sunday from 2 - 4 pm) and also forms part of this year's Eltham Jazz, Food and Wine Festival being held in Eltham Town Square the weekend of 23 and 24 February.

A number of associated events will be held at the Festival and also at the gallery including exclusive tastings of Nillumbik Estate wine on Sunday 3 March.  There's some exciting new work on show by artists including Jessica Page, Kate Hudson, Lisa Nolan, Ruth Allen and Jessie Pittard.
