Viva Italia

The Italian Film Festival at Palace Cinemas starts today in Melbourne and runs until 9 October.  In the north-east, you can catch films at Balwyn and Westgarth cinemas - I particularly love the renovated Art Deco interior at Westgarth and can remember watching one of the Italian films as part of this festival just after the cinema was refurbished over six years ago.  There are some really interesting sounding films on offer including Woody Allen's 'To Rome With Love'.

Also starting today is Seniority - an exhibition celebrating the creativity, experience and excellence of senior artists in and around the Darebin community - in the Access Gallery at the Bundoora Homestead Art Centre.  It co-incides with the 2012 Victorian Seniors Festival and runs until 14 October.  Admission is free.  Check the website for opening days and times.
