Musical theatre

Australian play Summer of the 17th Doll written by Ray Lawler starts at the Heidelberg Theatre Company tonight and is on until 29 September.  This is the story of two Queensland cane-cutters who bring Kewpie dolls for their barmaid sweethearts each year to Melbourne for an annual 5 month lay-off and is set in a year of change in 1953. It's on weeknights and Saturdays at 8 pm and on Sundays at 2 pm.
