Trials and Trails

I've talked about the Heidelberg School Artists Trail before - it's the 40km walking trail through Banyule, Nillumbik and Manningham through to the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges which the Heidelberg School of Australian artists used on location ('plein-air') for their impressionist paintings.

La Trobe university students have actually been organising fundraising for the trail to raise money for charity.  There is also a Heidelberg School Art Foundation created by The Rotary Club of Heidelberg who is working in partnership with Banyule City Council to create a gallery for this region called The Impressionist Lab.

The proposed location for the gallery is in the Yarra Flats Park to which some conservationists have been opposed.  If you're interested in providing your feedback for the gallery you can do so here.  Have a great weekend people!
