Winter magic

There's a hell of a lot on between now and the end of Winter.  There are a few events I wanted to mention between now and Wednesday when I cross over to the Winter in Banyule Arts Festival blog.

Firstly, Montsalvat in Eltham is holding a Greek Feast this Thursday night at their newly opened Meeting Pool restaurant which had a recent write-up in The Age Epicure.  Tickets are $60 per person including a glass of ouzo and bookings are essential on 9431 2681.  Matthew Fagan is also launching his CD at Monsalvat this Sunday.
It's National Bookshop Day this Saturday so please head to your local bookstore like Andrew's Books or Eltham Bookshop and buy yourself a book or two - remember 70 cents for every dollar you spend stays in our local community.  The inaugural Magnolia Square market is also on this weekend at The Centre Ivanhoe and is part of the Winter in Banyule Arts Festival.  There are over 50 retailers showing their beautiful wares as part of this event.

Finally, the Hursbridge Wattle Festival is being held on Sunday 28 August - I've heard that it's a huge event with lots of queues and crowds so plan your trip well, go early if you can and be prepared to wait if you do go.
