Green house

The 'Create an Energy Efficient Home' workshop is being held tonight at Preston Shire Hall from 7 - 9 pm by Darebin City Council while Banyule Council will hold the same workshop on Wednesday 24 August at the Rethink Centre Banksia St, Bellfield.  These workshops are part of the Sustainable Homes & Communities Program - a fantastic series of programs  and events designed to provide individuals and groups with practical information on helping to reduce our energy, water and food bills, produce less waste and create a more sustainable home and community.  Registration is essential.  Email: sustainablecommunities@darebin.vic.gov.au or call Katelyn Fryer on 8470 8873 to register.

The other thing I've been wanting to mention is that there are a number of Food Swaps around Banyule and Nillumbik.  Diamond Creek, Olympic Village Heidelberg and Rivers at Yarrambat hold swaps on the first Saturday of each month while Montmorency holds theirs on the first Sunday of every month.  Churinga, Greensborough Food Swap is held on the second Saturday of every month and Bulleen Art & Garden and Allwood House, Hurstbridge on the third Saturday of every month.  You can find more details in Banyule Council's Green Wrap newsletters.
